Catholic Charities Dragon Boat Races
Now in its 20th year, this event has become a major source of operating income for Catholic Charities. Why is it so successful? Here are just a few reasons:
- Local corporations are eager to support it, because their employees get an incredible teambuilding experience in return for their sponsorship dollars.
- Who doesn’t love a competition, especially one that involves dragons, boats, and the sparkling waters of Baltimore’s harbors?
- Each team is expected to “adopt” one of the many charities within the Catholic Charities umbrella. The team members visit their adopted charity, and then create add-on competitions related to their charity, such as crazy hats and team chants.
